Wholesale EPS Insulation

EPS UNDER SLAB INSULATION

PEPSI OR COKE? Chevy or Ford? John Deere or Case IH? Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) or Extruded Polystyrene (XPS).

In situations when multiple available products compete to fulfill the same need, the final choice likely comes down to personal preference. Radiant Wholesale Supply has learned that high density, high performance EPS is the preferred choice for many of our customers’ sub-slab insulation needs.

Historically, XPS manufacturers and distributors positioned their product as the only rigid board insulation for concrete slabs. In the past few years, more contractors have learned that high density, high performance EPS is a better choice to insulate concrete slabs.

What we have learned from our customers:
• When comparing compressive strength: 25 psi XPS vs 25 psi EPS, EPS costs are typically 10% – 15% less.
• EPS can be custom sized in thickness, width and length to eliminate jobsite sizing, while XPS is only offered in a 4’ x 8’ sheet.

If you are an XPS customer, make the decision to try high density EPS. Just give us a call to describe your next project and any questions or concerns you may have. Maybe your new preference for sub-slab insulation will become high density EPS.
